How much does breast augmentation cost

Are you considering breast augmentation?  You’re not alone.  Each year thousands of women undergo breast augmentation to get the fuller, shapelier breasts they desire.  However, it’s always advisable to do some research about the cost of the procedure, so that you know what to expect when you enter your plastic surgeon’s office.

How much does breast augmentation cost

The cost of breast augmentation can range from $6,000-$10,000, as there are several components that go into the final price.   The cost of breast augmentation will be affected by surgery related fees, the cost of the implants, and the cost of medical tests.

Surgery related fees

The surgeon’s fee, anesthesia fee, and operating facility fee can greatly affect the final cost of breast augmentation.  Surgeon’s fees tend to vary significantly, and surgeons with a greater level of expertise generally charge more.

Cost of implants

There are two main types of breast implants, silicone and saline.  Silicone implants are somewhat more expensive than saline implants.  Your plastic surgeon will review the choices with you and recommend the best option based on your specific goals.

Medical tests

The cost of medical tests and lab work will also be added to the cost of breast augmentation.

Breast augmentation is not usually covered by medical insurance, so patients should be sure to ask their plastic surgeon about financing options available.  In addition, there are short-term financing plans for cosmetic surgery that can be accessed through CareCredit.
