When is a Chin Implant Right for Me?

Do you have a weak chin that makes you feel unattractive?  You can correct the appearance of your chin with chin implants.  Chin implants increase the projection of the chin and give the jawline greater definition.  But how do you know if a chin implant is right for you?

What Is A Chin Implant?

A chin implant is a small, solid device usually made of a synthetic material such as silicone.  Chin implants are available in a variety of shapes and sizes, and generally look completely natural.  Surgeons will select the chin implant that best meets the aesthetic goals of the patient.

Chin implant surgery or chin augmentation is often combined with a facelift to optimize facial harmony.

When is a Chin Implant Right for Me?

If you have a naturally weak, recessed chin that you would like addressed, a chin implant may be right for you.  A weak chin results in a lack of definition in the lower face and can make the nose appear larger.

Chin implants strengthen a weak chin and restore balance and harmony to the facial profile.   Increasing the projection of the chin will also improve the balance of the forehead and nose, and make the neck look leaner and more defined.

Chin Implant Surgery

Chin augmentation with implants is usually performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia.  The incisions for surgery are typically made inside the mouth or under the chin, so scars are virtually indiscernible after surgery.

Mild swelling is normal after chin implant surgery, but this typically resolves within a few days.  Downtime is minimal, as most patients can resume normal activities within a couple of days.

If you would like to give your weak chin a makeover, chin implants can enhance the appearance of your chin and bring balance to your face.
